Twenty Baltimore City students were evacuated and a bus driver was injured after a school bus caught fire in northeast Baltimore this afternoon.
The school bus was carrying students from Monarch Academy, a kindergarten-through-8th-grade charter school on Kirk Avenue and Exeter Hall Avenue, reported a spokesperson for The Children’s Guild.
The bus caught fire at Loch Raven Boulevard and Cold Spring Lane, near Morgan State University.
The students were all safely evacuated, with no injuries, reported Alexis Rice of The Children’s Guild.
The bus driver was treated on scene by paramedics and taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.
