Massive Point Of Sale Outage Hits Comcast Business Customers

Comcast takes another hit, and its much worse than they’re telling you. Yes,the phone service is down but it’s also affecting commerce as retailers are having trouble accepting payments according to reports from local retailers in my area.

THE PATCH: Comcast business customers seem to be experiencing outages across the country Tuesday. The outages as shown on Down Detector seems to be concentrated in the Northeast, South Florida, parts of Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.

Several customers reported experiencing outages via Twitter.

forum post on the Comcast Business website says the following:

Hello All,

If you’re currently having issues making and receiving calls, National engineering is actively working to resolve this issue and we will continue to update this thread with the most current information.

Service impacted SMB ( Small to Medium Business) voice only*
This should not impact Business Voice Edge or PRI Trunking lines.
